Set in the world of bugs where spiders are the cops, a detective boards a seaplane to San Francisco after finally capturing his arch nemesis, but a murder on his flight draws him into a plot that threatens both the human and bug worlds.。「相棒 season22」の最終回オンエア後に配信された「相棒 sideA/sideB」は、杉下右京と亀山薫それぞれの視点から1つの事件を追った物語。“sideX”ではその2年後が舞台となり、前作で元暴力団員が殺害された事件の被疑者だった平井久美、高木宇宙が再会したことから新たな物語が動き出す。なお2人は先ごろテレビ朝日系でスタートした「相棒 season23」第1話にも登場し、バディを組んだ探偵となっていた。。
