A group of students who are participating in a university's summer science camp are drawn into an incredible quagmire of conflicts, ranging from the relatively simple conflict between an engaging and forthright young teacher and his older manipulative colleague, to a contest pitting political correctness against free scientific inquiry. Despite the murkiness of some of the issues in the latter conflict, the students pitch in enthusiastically on what they believe to be the side of righteousness, and passions rise to fever pitch. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide。七十年代初期,赌、黄、毒乃香港社会三大毒瘤,不法之徒在贪官污史包庇下暗地经营这些勾当.政府遂于一九七四年成立廉政公署,务求肃清贪污.警方对扫毒工作努力不懈,迭破巨案,女毒后郑如燕获悉逃脱,并决散播流言,称已偷渡出境.警方表面停顿侦查,实已布下天罗地网……。杨念和因与好友飚车出了车祸，杨念和到医院包扎时，意外见到一名与他长的一模一样的男子，这名男子正是他从未谋面的双胞胎哥哥柯浩天。兄弟俩在同一天出了车祸，身为铨盛集团总裁的柯浩天从此消失，让集团顿时群龙无首，柯家老奶奶王银丽为了防止女婿简士信趁机夺权，遂派人请来杨念和冒充柯浩天，实时稳住了阵脚。杨念和进入柯家后，却发现自己竟就是柯家子孙，但奶奶、父亲与母亲之间，似乎有着不为人知的误解，经过杨念和的努力，终于让奶奶、父亲与母亲解开多年来的心结。此时简士信的势力已经做大，并联合其他人将柯家势力全部剔除在集团之外。杨念和与父亲回到台湾打算作最后一搏，没想到，失踪已久的柯浩天竟再度出现，兄弟俩一个在大陆、一个在台湾开始连手对付简士信，终于打败简士信，让柯家再度恢复昔日荣景。。
