(Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。自两年前妻子去世后，已过中年的建筑师长峰重树（寺尾聪 饰）和女儿绘摩相依为命，过着平淡幸福的生活。但就在某个平凡的夜晚，父女的生活被彻底摧毁。绘摩在放学归家途中遭到不明身份人士的绑架，次日则尸陈荒野。重树见到女儿遭到凌辱、虐待的尸体，却无法得知女儿遇害的始末和原因。另一方面，警方基于某种原因对媒体和受害者家属也三缄其口，丝毫不透露与此案有关的相关信息。通过一通匿名电话，重树得知女儿应该是被3个未成年的青年所害。 在此之后，这个痛苦的父亲游离法律之外，向杀害女儿的青年们展开了绝望的复仇……。
