影片是根据原田真人担当导演编剧的电影《盗写1/250秒》为原作改编，讲述了昔日小报记者都城静（福山雅治饰）目前担当八卦专门杂志的狗仔，在沉迷于酒精赌博中混混度日的他因一件小事和被分配到同部门的新人记者行川野火（二阶堂富美饰）一起成为搭档。二人在捕获到独家新闻之后，引起一场更大事件的发生。。本剧为一廿集中篇处境剧，每集均有独立主题，故事环绕着一妇女团体“八娥会馆”发生，会馆由一群来自中上阶层的女性组成：会长赵关得英(李香琴)、对头人马惠(缃旖)、以夫为荣的贾玉芬(唐丽球)、才女唐咏诗(邱月清)等。这几名女子明争暗斗、互相利用，为大众情人葛德华(邓浩光)而争风呷醋，闹得会馆翻天覆地。To the outside world looking in, Jack's not well.
